After a 10-year stint as a weather forecaster and climatologist in the U.S. Air Force, John began his media career with the Omaha World-Herald. Within 12 months, he was named the Circulation Sales & Marketing Manager helping them achieve their all-time circulation high. He then served successfully in several different capacities with various sized newspapers throughout the country, the last 11 years in the industry as a Publisher at three increasingly larger properties.
He likes to stay active; he is the Founder of the 360 Media Alliance, an industry think tank as well as the Founder of Uniquely USA – a tourism marketing and branding initiative set to roll out in several States.
Aside from media, he has been very active in economic development and branding. He is the Founder of Starved Rock Country, a regional branding initiative in Northern Illinois that spun off regional branding initiatives including Concerts, Marathons, Pro/Am Golf events, Magazines and aggressive E-commerce business platforms.
John’s hobbies are history, economics, sports and traveling so that he and his wife Kathy can see their nine children spread throughout the country.
