Job title:
Publisher, C-VILLE
My career started with C-VILLE Weekly in 2006 as a sales person. I was promoted to Classifieds Manager in 2007, Associate Publisher in 2008 and Publisher in 2013. I oversee the operations of the entire business with my two main heads: my Advertising Director and my Editor-in-Chief. C-VILLE Weekly started back in 1989 as the C-VILLE Review. It published twice a month and then in 1994, it became the weekly that it is today.

C-VILLE Weekly is more than just a publisher of a weekly newspaper. We publish over 80 different products a year. We have a monthly Home and Garden magazine called Abode. We publish a weddings magazine twice a year. We have a fine food and wine magazine called Knife & Fork. We have our annual Best of the Best of Charlottesville magazine and we just recently launched a lifestyle publication called 434. We do many more as well. I think what has kept us a successful and growing company is our loyal readership and community partnerships. Since I started in 2006, our readership has actually grown every single year. I have a fabulous Circulation Director to thank for that. We also have strong partnerships with organizations like Tom Tom; Charlottesville City Market, Charlottesville Tom Sox; Blue Ridge Homebuilders Association, Starr Hill Events and the Virginia Film Festival. In fact, we produce the official program for the Film Festival. Our fundraising efforts include raising over $40K for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank through Charlottesville Restaurant Week, $10,000 or the SPCA through our ticket sales to our Best of C-VILLE Party and $2,000 donation, to Live Arts, for our first Annual New Years Eve Party.
